Lol! It took me years before I learned the origin of "cracker" (and I learned it from a jackass overly priveliged white boy who didn't understand why it's not good to look down at people who haven't properly mastered English yet), so I can't blame any of them for not getting it.

That said, I think the mother got the best last word ever.
